‘Learning Lessons’ from Serious Cases
Publication of Working Together (July 2018) brought about the new Multi-Agency Safeguarding Arrangements introducing national and local Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews (CSPRs) to replace Serious Case Reviews (SCRs).
From the 1st April 2019 the Birmingham Safeguarding Children Partnership (BSCP) took over responsibility for finalising ongoing SCRs and commissioning (CSPRs). The Partnership maximises the opportunity to learn from these cases, acting quickly to take forward the findings. The number of reviews undertaken by Birmingham is comparable with other major cities and large conurbations across the country.
Published reviews for the last 3 years are available to read and download below. These are accompanied by a one-page briefing note and powerpoint presentation for the use in team meetings and supervision. A historical archive of all published SCRs can be found in the National case review repository - click here
